Nov 07 : CURRENTSTATE SELECTED FOR CROSBY I-LAND COMMISSION
November has been a fantastic month for Currentstate as I was shortlisted, and then finally selected to provide a signature artwork for the main entrance to i-land, a new Crosby development in the city centre. The brief was to encompasses essential themes of vibrancy, play, city style, peace, comfort, lifestyle and inspiration. My proposal was to create a bright and bold panoramic montage that spans from Birmingham scenery to
New York City, depicting lifestyle, people, bars, cafes, shops, NYC cabs, and street signs. The proposal also included a brief trip to New York so
I could work from my own stock photography, so i could capture movement and fluidity of real city life. This is the final artwork below, its a massive 7x3 metres and its due to be installed in Dec. Check out my blog for more images of New York.
Oct 07 : CURRENTSTATE AT PLUS DESIGN FESTIVAL 07
We are delighted to have a stand again at this years Plus Design Festival. Plus is a unique design-led festival showcasing all that is innovative, pioneering and novel in the world of international typo / graphic design. Plus comes to Birmingham from 17-21 October 2007, and will feature work from international illustrators, design agencies, freelancers, graduates and students working in the areas of graphic communication, web, animation and multimedia. March 07 : NEW ART BIRMINGHAM
Currentstate has been seleceted to exhibit at New Art Birmingham, the Midlands’ largest visual arts festival. NAB will return in March for a four day showcase of the UK’s best emerging contemporary visual artists. From March 15-18, New Art Birmingham 2007 will exhibit the work of more than 100 contemporary painters, photographers, sculptors, printmakers and digital media artists. It follows a successful inaugural event in 2005.

June 06: NEW GENERATIONS ARTS FESTIVAL
Currentstate was invited to showcase work on the artpod in Selfridges Birmingham as part of the New Genration Arts Festival.
